New Hampshire Business Address

When you register a business in New Hampshire, you’ll need to provide a few different addresses on your formation paperwork.

Your formation documents are a matter of public record, so listing a temporary address—or your home address—risks your professional reputation and your privacy.

How do you keep your address off the public record? By hiring a registered agent that lets you use their business address, or by getting a business address service to get a virtual business address.

Our clients get FREE use of our shared business address on state filings, wherever permitted. You can also get a unique address for your business by signing up for Mail Scanning or Virtual Office Service.

We own our building, so you can trust in our permanent, secure business address.

Does Your Business Need a Business Address?

Many businesses, especially startups and small businesses, can benefit from using a business address.

Here are some common reasons to use a business address service:

  • Running a home-based or online business: Instead of using your home address as your principal office address, use a business address service so that you put down a professional, commercial business address on your formation documents and keep your home address off the public record.

  • Traveling frequently or working as a digital nomad: Using a business address service, you can get a stable business address so you can avoid having to update your principal office address frequently. Plus, with a service that provides mail scanning (like ours), you can view your business mail the same day it’s delivered, no matter where you are in the world.

  • Still looking for a physical office or needing to establish a physical presence in New Hampshire: If you’re starting your business while still on the hunt for an office space or not even planning to get an office space, you can get your business set up with a professional, physical address in the Granite State right from formation.

Many individuals also use address services like mail scanning or virtual office while on vacation or to stay organized. You’ll never have to worry about asking a family member or neighbor to pick up your mail, and you’ll be able to read your mail as it arrives rather than having to wait until you’re back. Plus, all you’ll have all your mail conveniently stored in your online portal, and you won’t have to deal with junk mail or mail clutter.

How To Get a Business Address
with New Hampshire Registered Agent LLC

Every business is a little bit different, so we have a few different ways to make our address yours.

1. Get Registered Agent Service

You can use our shared business address for free when you hire us to act as your New Hampshire registered agent or order any of our services that include a year of registered agent service, such as Company Formation Service or Out-of-State Business Registration Service.

We include three scans of your ordinary business mail each year when you choose this option. It’s perfect for businesses that don’t expect more than the odd piece of snail mail.

What’s the difference between registered agent mail and ordinary business mail? Registered agent mail is correspondence between your business and the state of New Hampshire, including notices and reminders from the Secretary of State and any service of process. Ordinary business mail is everything that isn’t registered agent mail. Vendor invoices, business banking statements, keynote speaker invitations, thank-you cards from the community fundraiser you recently supported—and of course, all the junk mailers you never knew existed.

Mail Scanning Services

Our Mail Scanning services digitally forward your mail to your secure online account. You can access it whenever, wherever—as long as you have an internet connection.

Depending on how much mail you expect to receive, we offer different tiers of Mail Scanning service to meet your needs. Each tier includes a business address with a unique suite number that you can use on business formation documents, as your business mailing address, with vendors, and more.

If you already have Registered Agent Service, the scans you receive with mail scanning are added on top of the three scans you get with Registered Agent.

  • Deluxe Mail Scanning includes 10 scans per year for $49/year
  • Premium Mail Scanning includes 25 scans per year for $99/year

Virtual Office Service

Our Virtual Office Service is our most robust package, with several tools to help you establish a professional image while also staying organized and protecting your privacy.

Virtual Office Service includes unlimited same-day mail scanning with an address with a unique suite number that can be used for business formation, as your business mailing address, with the IRS, with vendors, and more. You’ll also get a month-to-month virtual office lease that you can use as proof of address when you set up a business bank account.

To help you avoid giving out your personal phone number to customers and keep up your professional appearance, we include VoIP phone service that works on your existing device (app available to download for free in US iOS and Android app stores). And for meetings where you need a professional space, we have a conference room in our building you can reserve for a nominal fee.

Benefits of Our Business Address Service

Using our business address comes with several perks:

Protect your privacy.

When you register your business or apply for a trade name in New Hampshire, you’re required to provide a few different addresses that all become part of the public record. These include your business address, your mailing address, and your registered agent’s office address. Over the years, we’ve seen plenty of folks slap their own home addresses on there—not realizing the implications of making that address available to anyone performing a business records search.

We strongly believe that running a business shouldn’t mean that your personal information is up for grabs. Using our business address on those public-facing documents is just one more way we help keep your personal information private.

Protect your time.

You have better things to do with your time than babysit your mailbox awaiting that crucial piece of correspondence. Maybe you’d even like a vacation now and again without trying to figure out how to do a temporary mail stop, or giving up and hoping that the intern will remember to check the mailbox while you’re away.

Take your time back. Let our expert mail handlers shred the junk, and open and scan your important business documents. You’ll have them the same day we do.

Protect your reputation.

We own our building here in scenic Nashua, NH, so our business address is here to stay. No matter how often you need to move, you won’t need to file change-of-address forms, pay associated fees to the Secretary of State or other entities, or concern yourself with mail getting lost in the shuffle.

Plus, your business will look more professional with an established commercial address—and less fly-by-night without a string of such addresses cluttering up its records. If you upgrade to one of our paid mail scanning or virtual office options, you’ll even get a unique suite number for your business address.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can I use my home address as my business address?

Depending on your local zoning ordinances, you may not be allowed to own a home-based business—or perhaps you can, but you’ll need to complete something like a home business site plan and get the required approvals. Even after you’ve jumped through all the hoops, you still need to consider whether you want your home address available to anyone with an internet connection. Forget all the junk catalogs clogging up your inbox. Do you want process servers interrupting your lunch break? Unhappy customers showing up in the middle of dinner with your family?

Can I use a mail scanning or virtual office address to register my business?

Yes! You can use your mail scanning or virtual office address as your principal office address on company formation documents to keep your home address off the public record and so that you can form your company with a permanent, professional business address that is unique to your company.

You can also list your mail scanning or virtual office address as your LLC’s member and/or manager addresses or your corporation’s officer, director, and/or incorporator addresses to keep their home addresses private.

Is New Hampshire Registered Agent LLC a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency?

New Hampshire Registered Agent LLC is a Commercial Mail Receiving Agency (CMRA), authorized by the US Postal Service to receive and redistribute mail on behalf of our clients. To prevent mail fraud and ensure that only authorized individuals can access our clients’ mail, all clients must fill out PS Form 1583 when they sign up for Mail Scanning or Virtual Office Service.

What if I get more mail than I’ve paid to have scanned?

Once you’ve reached the document limit for your mail scanning service, you can view additional documents for a small fee. We won’t throw away or stop scanning your mail. Give us a call if you’re getting more mail than you expected and want to upgrade your package—after all, it’s only $19/month for unlimited scans with our Virtual Office service.

Can you physically forward my mail?

We can physically forward ordinary business mail for a small fee plus postage for each item. Request forwarding in your online portal.
